• The President of the Republic of Angola and Chairperson of the African Union, His Excellency João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, notes with concern the deterioration of the security and humanitarian situation currently occurring in Eastern DRC.

• He further notes with the deepest concern the consequences and threats arising from the aforementioned situation, which call into question the tireless and significant efforts undertaken within the framework of the United Nations Security Council, particularly Resolution 2173, and within the Washington and Doha processes.

• He calls for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire between the Parties to the conflict and a cessation of all hostilities.
